Join us at the Cannes Film Festival and Market!
If you’re serious about filmmaking and have not as yet attended a film market, then The Guerilla Film Maker team are offering a unique two part intro for a film market newbie where every serious filmmaker, producer, distributor will be accessible.
Why should I go?
Film markets give you the filmmaker the overall view of where your film will ultimately end up. Once you’ve cracked distribution for your film, you’ve cracked one of the biggest pieces of the puzzle. Plus, this place is fun – you have no idea who you’ll meet and whose hands you’ll be able to get your script to.

But I’ve not made a film yet?Even more reason to go! Learn your market, see what’s selling, see how it’s sold, meet the distributors and find out what they want, what they need and what they believe must be included in your film in order to sell it. Once you’ve got this insider information, you’ll be ready and armed to go and make your film with the knowledge that you have new current distribution contacts at your fingertips, or even a tentative deal in place.

So why Cannes? Why not Sundance? The AFM?
Firstly, Cannes is Cannes: where the glamorous world of filmmaking, cinematic art and business, all mingle on the stunning Croisette on the French Riviera. Those who travel here for the market are working hard but there’s more of a relaxed mode going on here than the US markets and there’s an overriding attitude that if you’re an American filmmaker who’s made the effort to go to Cannes – then you’re a serious filmmaker. You will get those meetings.
Isn’t getting accreditation impossible if you’ve not made a film?
Ah. That’s why you have to come to our workshop. We will tell you how to get your accreditation that will provide you a pass into everything!
What do I get?
The first workshop is a one night intensive introduction to Cannes held in LA on SUNDAY 28th MARCH and will cover:
* Securing accreditation (getting your badge so you can gain access to all events including premieres)
* How to get there and where to stay, all within your budget.
* A step by step guide to the Market.
* Advice from seasoned Cannes professionals (TBA).
* How to get into the room.
* How to work the room once you’re in it.
* How to get tickets to the premieres and walk the red carpet.
* What you can really get out of Cannes.
You will also meet The Guerilla Film Maker Team as well as interact with your peers, make contacts, learn essential networking tips and maybe cut costs by teaming up with fellow workshop colleagues who are also at the start of their exciting journey too.
The second workshop will be in CANNES.We recommend you fly out to Nice to be ready for business during the week of the 17th May.
